Dress Code / Uniforms

District policy states that every school can adopt a uniform policy depending on the specific needs of the school.

Adopting a uniform policy will maintain a secure campus by reinforcing the discipline policy and provides safety and security thus assuring the emotional well-being of the students.

In 2004, a Uniform Policy was adopted by vote of the West Hollywood Elementary School Site Council.

It was agreed upon that boys shall wear a white or navy blue collared shirt and navy blue pants or shorts.  The pants or shorts should be appropriately belted around the waist.  Girls shall wear a white or navy blue collared shirt and navy pants, shorts, skirts or jumpers.  Jewelry should be appropriate with studs or very small hoops for earrings.  Shoes should be closed toe and have a rubber sole.

Provisions will be made for those families needing assistance with clothing.

A list of stores where uniforms can be purchased is available in the office.
